All this school year, Mrs. Lewton's class has worked on reading fluency with their partners. One partner listens and gives help if needed while the other partner reads for one minute. After each partner has had an opportunity to read 3 times, the partners each talk for a minute about what they remember from the reading and listening.

Where are you from?
I have lived right here in Hickory County my whole life and currently live on a farm outside of Wheatland.
Why did you choose to get into k-12 education?

My favorite teacher was probably my health and gym teacher/softball coach, Coach P. He taught me to play a sport that I loved and all through highschool he pushed me to be the best I could be in the classroom, on the field, and as a person.
Who inspires you?
My two sons inspire me to be the best I can be every single day!
Where is your favorite place in the world?
I would have to say at home with my family but a close second would be a deer stand, in the woods, on a cold November morning.
What are you passionate about?
Caring for and teaching children. I truly love my job as a mother and an educator and couldn't imagine doing anything different!
What is your favorite meal?
A steak, perfectly cooked, with some mashed potatoes and green beans.
