What is Weaubleau R-3 doing about at-home learning while school is out?
Teachers at all levels have developed 3 weeks of plans for at-home learning that will last through April 3.
When will school resume?
Currently, plans are to resume classes on April 6. Prior to April 6, Weaubleau R-3 will meet with health officials from surrounding counties for an update to ensure this remains the most appropriate course of action. The closing of schools due to a global pandemic is uncharted territory for schools in the U.S. School officials rely on local health department partners to make decisions that will be in the best interest of student and staff safety and that will help reduce the spread of COVID-19 in the region.
When’s the last day of school?
The last day of school is currently May 15th.
I left something at school I need. Can I come pick it up?
Weaubleau R-3 school buildings are closed. However, you may call central office and request help. If possible, we will locate the item and make it available for pick up at a designated time.

How often will teachers assign work to my student during the closure?
Currently teachers have assigned 3 weeks worth of assignments. If additional assignments are needed this will be planned next week.
How is the district going to handle assigning credit for work students complete during the closure?
It is the district-wide expectation that students complete the work assigned to them by their teachers, to the best of their abilities. We recognize the challenge this poses.
Here are the important points:
-Students will receive points for their work.
-Students will not be penalized for complications caused by factors outside their control.
-Students can email teachers with any questions or concerns about their assignments.
Is the library going to be open?
No. The school buildings are closed. However, Destiny Discover (formerly FollettShelf) is available to all Weaubleau students. It is a digital library, that currently has over 400 books available. You can access Destiny Discover by going to the school's website, clicking on 'menu', then 'Library Media Center'. Once you are on the Library's page you will see the Destiny Discover link in the upper left corner. On the Destiny Discover page you will see a general username and password that anyone can use once you click the Destiny Discover (FollettShelf) link.
*All students in grades six through 12 have personal passwords they may use. These passwords are the same as Reading Counts passwords. Please feel free to send Mrs. Hubbert an email with any questions; there is a link on the page.
We have unreliable internet service. Can you help with this?
Wi-fi is available in the school parking lot. People will be able to access the wi-fi from their cars. The building is closed to the public. All teachers will have non-web based assignment options.
My student is on an Individual Education Plan (IEP) or 504; will support services still be offered?
Special Education Teachers will still provide work to students, based on IEP goals. Special Education Teachers will also check-in with their students and parents regularly with opportunities for instruction and/or distance tutoring as needed. Students on a 504 will be provided accommodations according to their plans.
Will the state’s MAP testing and EOCs still take place?
The Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) has canceled state testing for the 2020 school year.
Will Prom be held as scheduled on April 10?
Prom has been postponed at this time. We plan to reschedule at a later time.
What about graduation for seniors on May 8th?
Weaubleau R-3 has made no decisions yet regarding graduation or other end-of-the-year events to date. We know these are important milestones in a student’s life and the district will communicate on any necessary change of plans if needed as soon as possible.
What about Dual Credit Classes?
All Dual Credit courses are “paused” through March 30th. As further decisions are made by each college, the counselor will be communicating with affected students by email or a phone call.
My child is a senior. How does this impact my child’s ability to graduate and access transcripts, teacher recommendations, scholarship applications and other support for my child’s pursuit of college or post-secondary education?
Weaubleau High School counselor, Mrs. Seay, will continue to provide Seniors and their families updates regarding these matters as information becomes available. Seniors are encouraged to subscribe to the Class of 2020 Remind, visit the Counselor’s Corner webpage and contact Mrs. Seay by email, as needed. It’s important that all students, including seniors, continue to complete assignments through the at-home learning procedures provided by teachers.
How can my family receive services from Parents As Teachers?
Parents As Teachers staff are still available for virtual visits with their families. Please contact Mrs. Tracy Dennis at tracy.dennis@weaubleau.k12.mo.us.
How can my child receive breakfast or lunch while school is out? Grab and Go lunch and breakfast (5 days worth-10 meals) will be available to all students every Tuesday school is not in session. This will be a drive-thru pickup at the south doors. We will bring your meals to your window. If the meals are not needed in your home please extend random acts of kindness and give the food to another student. We do not want this food to go to waste. If you need the meals delivered to your home, please email weaubleaur3@gmail.com or call 417-428-3317 Ext 242 and leave a message before 8:00 P.M. the Monday before. Please provide an address and how many students live in the home.
